Kelly's Korner posted tonight talking about the new Blog Hop that has started. Each week will have a new theme, and they are giving away $100 each week to one lucky person who participated. It looks like it is going to be a lot of fun, and I couldn't resist on joining in!
This week is "Favorite Picture Week"...hope you enjoy!
If you visit my blog often, you have seen this one before. This is my Granny Lou with Gage. My entire life, Granny Lou has been one of my very favorite people. I spent lots of time with her as a child, and even as an adult. She was the most kind hearted person I have ever met...I'm pretty sure she hung the moon! Granny's health started getting really bad about 5 years ago, and she never seemed to get any better. When I found out I was pregnant, I told her the news. She was VERY upset. In her eyes, I was still a child, and way too young to be having a baby. Throughout my entire pregnancy, Granny wouldn't mention the baby. I was very upset about her feelings, but I couldn't help but to understand. She was very old, and didn't realize that I wasn't a child anymore. About 2 weeks before I had Gage, my Dad called me and said that Granny had asked about the baby. I have never been more excited in my life! Gage would be a 5th Generation and I wanted her to meet him so badly. After Gage was born, we took him to meet her. She hadn't been able to sit up or get out of bed on her own for weeks, but as soon as she saw Gage, she sat straight up in bed. She held him for what seemed like forever, and kissed all over him. That was the moment that I knew everything was ok with her...finally! We took a lot of picture of all 5 generations and let Granny love on him for a while. Two days after we went to see her, she tried to get up and fell. She never recovered from the fall, and passed away when Gage was only 3 weeks old. Although she only saw him one time, I know she loved Gage with all her heart. I miss her dearly, and I can't wait to see her sweet face again someday! I LOVE YOU GRANNY!!!

What a precious moment!
I would have loved to know my grandparents when I was older, and to share my kids with them. Unfortunately they all passed away between when I was born until I was 7.
Hope you can stop by my Northern Ireland blog to see my photo for the blog hop.

What a sweet post! It reminded me of my Grandma who passed away when I was in high school. She never had the opportunity to see my son but I am so thankful that my Gramps is still alive and celebrated his 91st birthday this year!
