Show Us Your Life...

This week is Kelly is hosting "Show Us Your Life" Wedding Week! I am so excited about this week because I LOVE weddings. I love going to weddings, reading about weddings, looking at wedding pictures...everything about them! I hope you enjoy a little sneak peak into mine!

We had a WONDERFUL day! The weather was gorgeous, and everything turned out perfectly! We had our Wedding at my Family's farm - what a beautiful place! I have spent a large majority of my life there and it meant so much to me to be able to get married there! Michael and I wanted an outside wedding. We wanted things to look nice, but also be very casual. I didn't want anyone not to come because they didn't have anything to wear. You know how us women are ;)

The girls wore the cutest brown knee length dresses with a turquoise sash...with NO SHOES might I add! The guys wore khakis and flip flops with a turquoise button up shirt. Our Flower Girls wore the sweetest little white dressed, and the Ring Bearers wore khakis and turquoise Polo's. It turned out just like I dreamed it would!

I think this is a really neat one! My cousins were our Ushers, and every time I see this picture it makes me laugh. I think it is so crazy how high they jumped!

I used white roses for the Bridesmaids bouquets and red roses for mine. The flower girls dropped red rose petals as well!

Here is one of my favorite shots of our rings. Michael picked out a black band...that I love! I wasn't too sure about it at first, but once he put it on, I fell in love with it. Or maybe it was just him ;) My wedding set is exactly what I have always wanted. I told him long before we got engaged what I liked, and he remembered all the details perfectly! I still love it as much today as I did the day he asked me to marry him!

Instead of the traditional Unity Candle, we decided on Unity Sand. I still have the hurricane full of sand, and it is still beautiful to me!

I made pages for our scrapbook for our guests to sign instead of having a guest book. Now I can look at them anytime instead of having to dig out a book that I never look at!

My cousin made both our cakes for us! She did an awesome job on both of them, and they were DELICIOUS!! Before the ceremony mine started melting, so we were afraid it would fall. It didn't!

Michael's cake was a chocolate cake topped with one of my personal favorites...chocolate covered strawberries! YUMMY!!!

I hope you have enjoyed our "Big Day"! Come back again next week for Wedding Receptions and Honeymoons!

5 Months

So, now that I have Little Man in bed for the night, I can finally update! Wow...that is about all I know to say for sure! Where have the past 5 months gone? It seems like yesterday we were starting to put cereal in his bottles, and now, he's eating baby food! He is wearing size 3 diapers and 9 month clothes. It absolutely blows my mind how much bigger he has gotten in just the past month. I just simply don't know what has happened to my tiny little baby :)

Anyway...enough pouting! To be quite honest, although I am saddened by the fact that Gage is growing up on me, he has developed quite a little personality! He smiles constantly and laughs in between smiles ;) I am so happy to be spending my time with such a happy little boy!

He has been doing so well with his eating since we started him on fruits and veggies. He usually wakes up around 7am and takes a 7 ounce bottle. Goes back to sleep until about 9. Eats 1 jar of fruit and 1 jar of veggies at Noon. Takes another 7 ounce bottle around 3. Eats another jar of fruit and another veggie around 7. Takes another 7 ounce bottle around 9 and goes to bed for the night.

Here lately he hasn't been sleeping all that great. He was doing so good for a while, but he has started tossing and turning in the night. He is still sleeping in his Pack 'n Play in our bedroom, but I think the time has come for him to go in his own bedroom. I am having such a terrible time with the thought of it, that I haven't even attempted yet. I think he would do much better if we went ahead and made the move. Michael happens to snore...A LOT...and I'm not too sure that he isn't waking Gage in the night. I guess we won't know until we try, but I'm just nauseated by the thought of him being alone in the other end of the house. Am I crazy or is this just normal?

We are in the market for a new Video Monitor, but not sure on which one would be best. Any suggestions?

I guess for now, I will leave you with a picture

...or two!

A weekend of Changes...

Notice any changes here? Michael had to work all day Saturday, so Gage and I spent our day at home relaxing. While he was napping, I sat down at the computer and browsed the internet for a while. I have been contemplating having a new header and layout made for my blog, but to tell you the truth, I am just too tight! So...I just made one myself. It is by no means a "professional" job, but not too bad for my first try - I don't think!

When Michael and I first got engaged, I started a scrapbook of our lives since we met. It goes from our first date to our Wedding Day. It turned out really nice, and I'm glad I have it, but...it took FOREVER to finish. As a matter of fact, I spent the first couple of months of my pregnancy finishing it. All that being said, I played around with the idea of making Gage one when he was born, but wasn't sure when I would ever have time with a new baby. Because of the fact that I knew it would be worth it when I finished, I went ahead and started one. It makes a huge mess, costs LOTS of money, and I just simply don't take the time to drag everything out. So, to make an even longer story shorter, I have decided to do it all on my computer, print it out, and put it in the scrapbook! Hopefully it goes well and I'll have scrapbook pages to share soon!

For months now I have been wanting to buy Photoshop to be able to edit Gage's pictures. Once again...I'm just too tight. Well, I finally broke down and spent the money, and I'm so happy I did. It is a lot to learn and certainly not easy to figure out, but I'll get there eventually. These are my first two photos to edit. What do you think?

Show us your Wedding Dress...

It is so funny to me how this blog can bring back so many memories. Not that I have been married that long (a year and a couple months), but it seems like so long ago that Michael and I got married. Don't get me wrong, it has been a wonderful year and couple of months, but so much has gone on since then. We had the most perfect day and the best thing was(other than the fact that I was finally married to the man of my dreams), we spent it with all of our very best friends and family.

My wedding gown was VERY simple. No beads. No fancy buttons. Just simple. From the very first time I saw it...I had to have it! No questions asked. This was the one.

All that being said, what would the perfect wedding dress be without the perfect shoes? I chose my turquoise cowboy boots! I'll never forget the looks I got when people started noticing my shoes. It was priceless!

Not so much Sunday

We have finally had a weekend with NOTHING to do! I have not left the house since Friday, and it feels oh so good! I can't tell you the last time this happened...maybe never! We have spent the entire weekend in our "jammies", napping, playing, and eating.

Speaking of eating...Gage has been doing so good with his solids! He LOVES fruit, and he is starting to get better with veggies. I think he gets this from me...I hate most vegetables! I really don't want him to be a picky eater, and it looks like he won't be. He doesn't turn down too much, but he WILL NOT eat green beans. Can you blame him? We still have a little problem with messes, but it'll get better ;)

Gage has started playing his exersaucer a lot this week. He will sit in it for 20-30 minutes before he gets tired of it! It is so cute to watch him play with all the toys! He never stops "talking" the entire time he's in there!

He finally rolled over this week! I was beginning to think we were going to have to start therapy ;) Michael was with him when he did it the first time, so I didn't get to see. We tried to get him to do it again, but he just looked at me like, "Mom, I can't roll over under pressure"! I'm still so proud of him!

Isn't this the cutest thing? I love to watch babies play with their feet!

We have absolutely nothing to do for the rest of the weekend, so maybe I'll be back with more pictures! Until then, see you later Alligator!

4 months and a few randoms...

Papaw (my Dad) came over one night last week to cook dinner for us. He is single, and he likes to cook, so he cooks for us! WE LOVE IT! For some reason, Gage is usually afraid of him (maybe the glasses or the cap), but that day...he loved him! Here they are playing and talking to eachother!

Kristi let us borrow the girls' exersaucer for a while until Gage grows out of it. He has been in it several times at her house, but we didn't have one at home. He loves playing in it for a few minutes, but he wears out pretty quick. At this point in time, he was having fun with it! Speaking of Kristi, last week was Gage's last week of staying with her. She has been so good to us, and so sweet to Gage. We are going to miss her and her little munchkins so much :( It seems like I just started getting attatched to them about the time we were going to stop seeing them everyday. I am going to try to make a point to see them often so they don't forget us. They are the sweetest little girls I've ever seen!

We went to the doctor today for Gage's 4 month shots and well child check-up. He did so good with the shots, and only cried for a minute. He hates it when the hold his legs where he can't move them. I think maybe if they wouldn't do that, he wouldn't even cry. He weighs 18 lbs 6 oz (95%), and he is 27 inches long (97%). Needless to say, he's a big boy! Dr. Nolan told us to start giving him one kind of baby food a week until he eats one of everything. This way we will know if he has any allergies to any foods. Tonight we started on Applesauce. Here he is waiting on his dinner...

and here he is eating his dinner! It had to be the cutest thing ever! Every time I pulled the spoon away from his mouth, he screamed. You would think I was hurnting him. I'm pretty sure he loves Applesaucce!

Gage is starting to develop such a cute little personality. He laughs all the time and smiles at everyone he sees. Michael is quite a character himself, but a little bashful. Gage is not bashful all...yet! I have never in my life met a stranger. I'm thinking maybe he's a little mixture of both of us, personality wise! He is for sure, a Momma's Boy. He likes to play with other people, but he doesn't want me out of his sight. I'm not complaining...I wouldn't have it any other way! Although I am so excited about each new phase in Gage's life, I am so saddened by the fact that he isn't going to be a baby for much longer. I guess he will always be "Momma's Baby" though!

One last thing...I need ADVICE! We have been using Dr. Brown's bottles since Gage was about 3 weeks old for colic. He is now past the Colic stage, so I have been looking for some new bootles that aren't such a pain. The Dr. Brown's work well, but it takes about 30 minutes to wash the bottles every night. They never look or feel clean and I am annoyed with them. The problem is, we thicken his formula with cereal, and I can't find another bottle that works well with cereal. I have tried just about every bottle out there and I haven't found one yet. I've even tried cutting slits in the nipple, but that doesn't work either. Any suggestions?

The Blog Hop

Kelly's Korner posted tonight talking about the new Blog Hop that has started. Each week will have a new theme, and they are giving away $100 each week to one lucky person who participated. It looks like it is going to be a lot of fun, and I couldn't resist on joining in!

This week is "Favorite Picture Week"...hope you enjoy!

If you visit my blog often, you have seen this one before. This is my Granny Lou with Gage. My entire life, Granny Lou has been one of my very favorite people. I spent lots of time with her as a child, and even as an adult. She was the most kind hearted person I have ever met...I'm pretty sure she hung the moon! Granny's health started getting really bad about 5 years ago, and she never seemed to get any better. When I found out I was pregnant, I told her the news. She was VERY upset. In her eyes, I was still a child, and way too young to be having a baby. Throughout my entire pregnancy, Granny wouldn't mention the baby. I was very upset about her feelings, but I couldn't help but to understand. She was very old, and didn't realize that I wasn't a child anymore. About 2 weeks before I had Gage, my Dad called me and said that Granny had asked about the baby. I have never been more excited in my life! Gage would be a 5th Generation and I wanted her to meet him so badly. After Gage was born, we took him to meet her. She hadn't been able to sit up or get out of bed on her own for weeks, but as soon as she saw Gage, she sat straight up in bed. She held him for what seemed like forever, and kissed all over him. That was the moment that I knew everything was ok with her...finally! We took a lot of picture of all 5 generations and let Granny love on him for a while. Two days after we went to see her, she tried to get up and fell. She never recovered from the fall, and passed away when Gage was only 3 weeks old. Although she only saw him one time, I know she loved Gage with all her heart. I miss her dearly, and I can't wait to see her sweet face again someday! I LOVE YOU GRANNY!!!
